Cancun, Tulum and Cozumel

If you love the beach and Carribean waters then go to Cancun and surroundings. Easy to fly there with direct flights (Frontier Airlines) from many cities, Cancun is nice if you find yourself wanting to party like a springbreaker or you consider yourself and clubby kind of person. Otherwise, skip Cancun and head south, about 1 hr to be exact. Your best bet is to talk to a taxi guy outside of the Cancun airport or the information desk in your hotel. Tell him you want to hire him for the whole day and that you want to go to Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and finally to Tulum. The driver should quote you rates of $150 - $200 for the whole day. Nice bargain if you tell me plus you have the freedom.
First stop (or stay) on Playa del Carmen and enjoy the white sand beaches. There, you could take the ferry across and visit Cozumel where you can enjoy snorkeling or just relax and total calmness. Take back the ferry and continue south till you hit Tulum - the Mayan Castle by the Sea (see picture). On your way back from Tulum, stop at Oscar Y Lalo at Soliman Bay, about 12 km's north of Tulum, and experience eating delights with beautiful surroundings.

Happy Travels!
